NAMING FILES
File Naming
File names should not be longer than 15 characters.
Do not include any of the following characters in
the name of the files:
/ ? \ : * . ! @ # $ % ^ & ” ' , <> |
or any special characters besides the
standard alphabet, numbers or a dash (-).
Use only ONE PERIOD (.) in the file name, our system WILL cut the filename off at the first period it sees as it expects anything that follows to be the file's extension.
If possible use 8.3 File Naming
These characters cannot be used in filenames due to
the fact that they have special meanings to our systems
and will cause your order to print incorrectly.
We are not responsible for errors caused by naming your files incorrectly.
A detailed written instruction of some kind must accompany all digital submissions to indicate sizes, please do not indicate sizes and quantities in file names.
Please, DO NOT submit files in seperate folders with the SAME FILENAME.
For example, when submitting a job on CD do not put the images in multiple folders,
- Folder1\0001.jpg
- Folder2\0001.jpg
When the images are entered onto our system, they end up in ONE folder and files with the same name WILL BE OVERWRITTEN.
There are many freely available programs to help you rename multiple files at once. We recommend A.F.5 Rename or CK Rename.
