Plaque Prints

Plaque Mounting

Plaque mounting is a process where a poster, photograph, or print, is laminated onto a substrate, to be hung as a wall decoration.  Plaquing a print is a durable way to hang a print without the need for a frame or glass.

The Plaque mount (1) is our standard offering: your print mounted to a solid 3/8" thick MDF board with a beveled edge and your choice of edge color.

Sizes available: 8x10 - 48x96

For a Float mount (2) your print is mounted to 1/8" masonite. A hollow frame is fixed to the back of the plaque and inset a few inches from the edge so when hung on the wall, the frame is not visible.

Your print will appear to float 7/8" off the wall.
The weight of a Float mount is less than half the weight of a plaque mount of similar size.

Sizes available: 8x10 - 40x60

The Box mount (3) also known as 'Flush mount' has a thick 7/8" profile off the wall. (Visualize a shoebox cover on the wall.)
Your print is mounted on 1/8" masonite and a hollow frame is fixed to the back of the plaque, flush to the back edge.
Similar to the Float mount, the weight of the box mount is less than half the weight of a standard plaque mount of similar size.

Sizes available: 8x10 - 40x60

The edge is finished in your choice of colors, if no color is specified, the edge will be black.

Verified Archival Materials Used

The Art Storefronts Organization has verified that this Art Seller has published information about the archival materials used to create their products in an effort to provide transparency to buyers.

Description from Merchant:

Our fine art printing process uses pigment based inks. Pigment printing processes have been utilized since the middle of the 19th century. The image stability of pigment printing is superior to that of any other method of printing. Pigment inks excel in permanence. A dye is molecularly soluble in its vehicle, but pigment is not. Pigment particles tend to be large enough to embed into the receiving substrate making them water-resistant. The particle nature of pigment inks ensures their archival superiority. A particle of pigment is less susceptible to destructive environmental elements than a dye molecule.
